Chapter 7: Final adjustment for the Bed Cabinet and springs.

FIG. 6C - LEG POSITION

FIG. 6B - LEG AND CONNECTOR ROD, LEFT SIDE

•  Install the leg connector rod between the legs and secure with

Hex head bolts and star washers from Hardware Card #4 and

securely tighten Hex bolt with a 7/16” socket.

•  The legs and leg connector rod will rotate up when the bed is

closed. The rod will keep the mattress in place when closed.

STEP 4

Attach the mattress strap from Hardware Card #5 for securing the

mattress. Measure approx. 18” from the Mechanism End and locate

the nearest frame screw. Remove the frame screw, then attach the

screw directly through the end of the nylon strap. This is optional

because most mattresses will be held in with the legs and leg

connector rod. We do not recommend installing this unless needed.

STEP 5

optional

Chapter 7:

Final adjustment for the
Bed Cabinet and springs.

REQUIRED TOOLS

•  Cordless Drill with #2 Phillips

If the bottom can’t be moved side-to-side (e.g. the bed wasn’t shimmed when on carpet),

you can fi rst try sliding the bed on the provided wood shims. If that doesn’t work you

can adjust the top by

fi rst removing the Bed Face Panel (see last chapter),

 then

remove the Bed Cabinet Top Nailer from the wall. Prior to doing this, measure how

far and in what direction the bed cabinet needs to shift in order to achieve alignment.

NEVER REMOVE THE SCREWS IN “BED CABINET TOP NAILER”

FROM THE WALL WITHOUT FIRST REMOVING THE BED FACE PANEL.

THE BED CABINET WILL COLLAPSE OTHERWISE.

REQUIRED HARDWARE

•  Hardware Card #2

(mech. box)

You’re now ready to adjust the bed into alignment. A properly

aligned bed will have equal clearance (i.e. consistent gap) top-

to-bottom on the left and right sides between the Bed Face

Panel and side panels. Most beds can simply be adjusted by

shifting the bottom left or right.

•  If you have a gap in the top-left corner and/or the legs hit (or scrape) on the top

right corner, the bottom needs to be shifted to the left.

•  If you have a gap in the top-right corner and/or the legs hit (or scrape) on the

top left corner, the bottom needs to be shifted to the right.

Once the bed is properly aligned, you can now attach the “

Bed Cabinet Bottom

Nailer” in the same fashion as the top was previously attached. Two screws is

suffi  cient, one on the far left and right stud locations.
