Preventive Maintenance
:
Maintenance is necessary to
ensure safe and trouble free lift
operation. General preventive
lift maintenance consisting of
careful inspections of the lift sys-
tem and cleaning the lift should
be a part a regular daily service
program. Simple inspections
can detect potential problems.
Keeping the lift platform and
housing area clean is one of
the most effective preventive
maintenance practices to exer-
cise. Dirt, mud, snow, ice, and
other debris entering the hous-
ing could result in potential lift
problems.
Operation Notes and Details
Regular preventive maintenance
will reduce potential lift opera-
tion downtime and increase the
service life of the lift, as well as
enhancing safety. Exposure to
harsh weather elements, envi-
ronmental conditions, or heavy
usage may require more fre-
quent maintenance and lubrica-
tion procedures.
Preventive maintenance visual
inspections do not take the place
of the procedures specified in
the Maintenance and Lubrica-
tion Schedule provided on pages
37-45 of this manual. Refer to
the Maintenance and Lubrication
section for further details.
