4.3 INSTALLING THE SMARTCONNECT CONTROLLER (OPTIONAL)
4.3.1 MOUNTING THE CONTROLLER
The SmartConnect Controller uses the same mounting system as the Pulse MD unit, but with two parallel clips. Refer to
SmartConnect Controller Installation manual (literature 1066)
to see the installation methods available.
4.3.2 CONNECTING THE SMARTCONNECT CONTROLLER
Connect the SmartConnect Controller to the internet using a wireless or wired Ethernet connection. BouMatic recom-
mends using a wired connection for the best consistency. Connect the controller’s independent 12 VDC power supply.
For information about connecting the SmartConnect Controller to the Pulse MD’s CAN network, see
Section 4.6
.
4.4 LAYING OUT THE NETWORK/24 VDC POWER WIRE LOOM
There are several lengths of wire loom available. Combining different loom lengths allows the system to be installed for any
number of stalls. Refer to the Pulse MD ordering guide for part numbers. The wire looms can be laid in a trough, installed in
conduit, or tie-wrapped to piping with appropriate support. Be certain the wires are not installed in a wet location. For Pulse
MD looms and configuration examples, see
Literature 1069, SmartLite and Pulse MD Looms Application
.

Figure 21
shows a Pulse MD network/
power wire loom in a SmartLite detacher parlor. In these figures, the Pulse MD units are monitoring only. In both cases,
one 24VDC/10A power supply powers up to 96 Pulse MD units.

Figure 22
shows a Pulse MD Network/
Power loom in a SmartLite detacher parlor. In these figures, the Pulse MD units are monitoring and controlling pulsation.
In both cases, one 24VDC/10A power supply powers up to eight Pulse MD units.
Note!
If a pulsator other than BouMatic’s HiFlo Evolution pulsator will be controlled, it is the installer’s responsibility
to verify the pulsator can work with 24VDC and uses less than 1.2A total current (this includes both coils).
