The following describes the meaning of the most important parameters.
8.3.1
Nominal voltage of the vehicle (on-board power supply) (RDI=0xFDA3)
This parameter defines the vehicle’s nominal voltage, which can be either 12 V or 24 V. The setting for nominal voltage is neces-
sary for the tachograph to detect and record over-and under-voltage, among other things.
8.3.2
CAN-bus configuration of the main CAN vehicle bus (CAN MAIN)
This CAN bus is used to communicate with an instrument cluster or a speedometer. If EFAS is to be connected to the vehicle CAN
bus, a number of parameters must be taken into account for the basic configuration of the CAN bus. Depending on the type of
vehicle, the main bus is connected to the A connector or the C connector.
Configuration of the CAN bus and the role of certain CAN parameters is described separately in section 13.1.
