Note
When the workshop card is inserted in EFAS for the first time, the ITS release dialog is displayed.
Note
If no key is pressed within 30 seconds, an approximately 5 second acoustic warning signal will sound that can
be acknowledged with the
9
key. The PIN input prompt will then be displayed continuously until the input is
aborted using the keypad or until the vehicle starts moving.

The first set of characters available are numeric digits [
1-0
]. The key
v
takes you to the next set of characters [
ABC
], [
abc
],
[
@$#
], and the
u
key takes you back to the previous characters.
Use the control keys (
,
) to select the next or previous character from the circular arrangement, whereby the currently
selected character appears in the first line in plain text.

The selected character is confirmed by pressing the
OK
button. The “
*
” character is displayed instead of the selected character
and the cursor automatically jumps to the next character position in the PIN.
By pressing the
9
key you can step back to the previous character, which will be displayed briefly in plain text. The character
can then be edited as described above.

If key is

pressed when only one character is left, you will be queried as to whether the card is to be ejected.

After entering the last character of the PIN, confirm your entries with a second
OK
. The card data will then be read and the PIN
is checked.
If the wrong PIN was entered, the remaining number of PIN entry attempts is displayed briefly.

When EFAS respectively the card detected a wrong PIN entry the screen of Figure 25 is displayed for a short time. Then PIN entry
starts from the beginning; the number in the black circle in the utmost upper right of the display in Figure 26 shows the possible
number of trials left. In the example there are
more trials possible.
