1.
Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive on your PC. The installation program starts
automatically.
2.
If installation does not start automatically, locate the
Setup.exe
file on the CD and
double click it.
3.
Follow the instructions on the screen and select to install the
Configuration Tool
when
asked to complete the installation.
5.3
Starting the Configuration Tool
To start the
Configuration Tool
, double click the
Configuration Tool
icon on your desktop
window to start the program. Alternatively, select the
Configuration Tool
program via the
Start
button on the task bar and the
Programs
menu item. Follow the login procedure.
When you start the
Configuration Tool
, the
Login
window is displayed (click
Exit
to
discontinue login and exit the application). When the
Configuration Tool
application is
started for the first time, the DVR list is empty.
5.3.1
Configuring a DVR
The
Configuration Tool
requires administrator rights to log on to a DVR. The password is set
in the
Connectivity
menu of the DVR4C. If a DVR's configuration menu is activated or remote
setup is configured as
Disable
, login is blocked.
To configure a DVR, do the following:
1.
Double click the
Configuration Tool
icon on your desktop window to start the program.
2.
Click the
Add
button in the left bottom corner of the
Configuration Tool
window.
3.
Select either an
Ethernet
or
Dial-out connection
for the DVR you want to register
(
Figure 5.1
). A phone number is required for a dial-in connection.
4.
Type a
DVR Name
for local use,
IP Address
, and
Port Number
. The IP address is set in
the
System settings/Connectivity/Network
setup menu of the DVR.

Click
Auto-detect
and select an IP address from the list. All DVRs on the local network
are (that have Auto-Detect enabled) automatically displayed.
5.
When finished, click
OK
.
