Make sure ground is level and
firm and hold motorcycle at op-
erating temperature vertically.
BMW Motorrad recommends
the use of a suitable auxiliary
stand.

Motorcycle tips to the side

tipping over
Secure the motorcycle against
tipping to the side, preferably
with the assistance of a second
person.
Make sure the surface is level
and firm and place the motor-
cycle on its main stand at oper-
ating temperature.
Wait five minutes to allow oil to
drain into the oil pan.
Remove oil level dipstick

Clean measuring range 2 using
a dry cloth
Fit the oil level dipstick onto
the oil filler opening, however
do not screw in.
Remove oil level dipstick and
check oil level.
Specified level of engine
oil
Between MIN and MAX mark
