6.1.5 Password protection
This feature allows administrators to restrict configuration access to certain users.

To enable password protection:
1. Navigate to
CONF (Modem Configuration) > Password
and check the “Enable”
box.
2. Select the interfaces to prompt for a password on. The WAN interface (remote
connections) is the most commonly password-protected interface, however some
users may wish to password-protect both the WAN & LAN interfaces. Note that the
modem cannot prevent configuration changes made from its serial port.
3. Finally, set the modem password. The password must be a case-sensitive string that is
6-30 characters long.
