AQT8-QAM/IP
User Manual
Appendix C: Program Output Limitations
There is a firm twenty (20) program output limitation embedded in the AQT8-QAM/IP. However, during the setup, the
message that displays AFTER the twenty (20) program limit has been reached is misleading. The message that appears in
the dialog box is not a strong enough warning, and may lead the user to think that more than 20 programs can be done.
This is not the case, as 20 output programs is the absolute limit.
What Happens if the Warning Message is Ignored?
If, after the twenty (20) program output limit has been reached, the user attemps to add what would be a 21st program, a
warning dialog box will appear as follows:
If the user proceeds to add what seems like the 21st program (by pressing "OK"), that particular program will be added
to the output program lineup, but at the same time the "last program" will be dropped so that only twenty (20) programs
will be present at the output. The meaning of the term "last program" in this context means the last program (numerically)
on the last IP output numerically (IP# 1-8). This means that transport stream packets of what was the last program in the
program lineup, will be dropped and will no longer appear on IP output.
Another simple check is to observe the Status Page. The Status Page displays all the programs that have been entered by
the operator. The user must add up all program entries (gray rows) assigned to each IP output 1-8 to determine the total
number of programs. If there are more than twenty (20) programs on the Status Page, only the first twenty (20) reading
from top to bottom on the Status Page) will be present at the IP Output.
