TMC (Traffic Message Channel)
TMC stands for Traffic Message Channel and refers to broadcast digital traffic
information that can be analysed by the TravelPilot for dynamic navigation. The
TMC function is currently not supported by all radio stations, so sometimes it
may not be possible to receive a TMC station in certain regions. When dynamic
navigation is active, the TravelPilot tunes into a TMC station automatically. For
further details, read the section entitled “Dynamic navigation” in the “Navigation”
chapter. If a TMC station is being received, a TMC symbol appears in the status
line. Six TMC stations can be stored in the FMC memory.
TIP: You can conveniently store the six TMC stations with the strongest
reception in the region using the TMC Store function. For further informa-
tion, read the section entitled “Storing TMC stations automatically” in this
chapter.
