Touch the Protocol Name field, and use the pop-up keypad to name the new protocol.

Touch the Condition Name fields, and use the pop-up keypads to add conditions.

Touch the <Foot Position> icon next to each condition to specify a regular stance, narrow
base of support, single leg (left or right), or tandem straight.

Touch the <Metronome> field to select a time interval if using a vestibular ocular reflex
challenge (head shake). The frequency can be 1, 2, or 3 Hertz per second for a 30-degree
rotation from facing forward in both directions (60 degrees total).

Touch the Associate with Normative Data check box to connect this protocol with a data set.
The square changes color to green when active. One of the provided normative data sets
can be selected or a new data set can be added.

For a custom BESS test, touch <Error Scoring> to enable error reporting.

Touch <Next> to access the Custom Protocol Overview screen. This screen has options
specific to the type of test and to enable tracing during the session.

Touch <More Options> to access the Options screen. The Test Trial Time, Number of Trials,
or Rest Countdown can be selected, and one or more of the conditions can be deselected.
17.
Touch <OK> to return to the Protocol Overview screen.
18.
Touch <Save Protocol> to save the new protocol.
To Confirm the New Protocol:
1.
Touch <Home> from the Custom Protocol Overview screen.
2.
Touch <Testing>.
3.
Touch <Custom Sensory Integration>. The new protocol is listed (see Figure 7.16).
