Pneumatic grinding spindles / robot tooling

Filter pressure reducer
The air from compressed air systems is usually
contaminated and has accumulated moisture.
Therefore, install a filter pressure reducer equipped
with water separator between the compressed air
system and tool. This not only controls the
operating pressure but cleans and drains the
compressed air. The utility and service life of the
pneumatic grinding spindles / robot tooling are
thereby increased considerably.
You can select a suitable filter pressure reducer
from our catalogue.
Clamping into the clamping device
Clamp the pneumatic grinding spindle /
robot tooling into the clamping device of
the robot or the automatic system
Only clamp the pneumatic grinding spindle
/ robot tooling at the cylindrical clamping
range (see Description of -machine
chapter, item 2 in Fig. 1:)!
Only tighten the screws of the clamping
device as much as necessary!
Handling
Switching On and Off
Switching on
The pneumatic grinding spindles / robot tooling are
switched on via the controller of the robot or at the
automatic system. The controller regulates the
compressed air supply and therefore the speed.
Switching off
The pneumatic grinding spindles / robot tooling are
switched off via the controller of the robot or at the
automatic system.
Changing the Tool
Disconnect the equipment from the
compressed air network before
changing a tool!
Do not leave any wrenches in the
unit!
Before starting work, make sure
that all wrenches are removed and
that the tool is clamped correctly.
Only use properly fitting, undamaged open-end
wrenches to changing the grinding tools because
the collet will be damaged otherwise.
When changing the grinding tool using the
wrenches with the scope of delivery (E and F), hold
the spindle (G) and open or close the collet (H)
(right-hand thread) (see Fig. 4:).

Changing the tool
Fig. 5:
Changing the grinding tool RL3040, RL 2732,
RL 3622, RL 3030
For all models with left-hand thread (RL3040(SA),
RL 2732, RL 3622 and R 3030 L), Fig. 5: applies.
The minimum clamping length of
the tool shaft must never be less
than 10 mm.
In the case of higher working
speeds, the distance between the
collet and grinding tool must be
reduced!
For the R 4105 SW (AX) observe the enclosed
instructions for the exchange clutch!
Selecting the Speed
Please note that the speed of a grinder cannot be
regulated. It is dependent on the device used.
Diagram (Fig. 6:) is only to be used for tool
selection. The working speed necessary is
dependent on the cut diameter and required cutting
speed (according to the type of tool application).
The diagram contains the relevant set of
characteristic curves.
