Glow Plug Repair Set
for Mercedes CDI engines
APPLICATION
Drill out glow plug thread
This tool set ensures the correct removal of burned- in, corroded or
broken-off glow plugs, and repairs to the glow plug retaining thread
without removing the cylinder head.
It permits the damaged glow plug to be drilled out and the original
M10x1 thread to be re-cut to M12x1.The new glow plug is then
installed in the cylinder head with the aid of an M12x1 thread insert.
Using the puller included in the tool set. The glow plug (or the glow
plug tube if this has seized in the port), can be removed.
Tap the thread
Tap the thread in glow plug tube
Pull out the glow plug tube
