Insert centring sleeve into the glow plug
bore. Push the guide bushing for the drill in
as far as the stop and locate the centring
sleeve firmly at the bottom by striking it
lightly with impact tool. Recut the M10x1
retaining thread for the glow plug. The
thread tap must first be coated with alcohol
spirit. While cutting the thread, the
compressed air feed must be stepped up
to a higher rate at the adapter, so that no
swarf reaches the combustion chamber.
Protective goggles must always be worm
(fig.1.9).

Apply alcohol spirit to the cutting edges of the
thread tap.

Before installing the glow plug again.
Clean the glow plug port and taper sealing
face with the 3-step reamer. To do this,
install the reamer guide bushing with
centring sleeve. While reaming, do not
exert any pressure on the reamer. so that
only combustion residues are removed, not
aluminium metal (Fig.1.10)

Set the crankshaft to TDC on the working
stroke for cylinder 1 (valve closed).
Prevent the crankshaft from rotating!

Remove the injector nozzle from cylinder 1
with nozzle tool set. Install compressed air
adapter and connect the compressed hose
to it (Fig.2.1) Open the adapter valve so that
dirt or other contaminants can escape with
the compressed air via the glow plug bore.
Note
: Protective goggles must always be worn.
