Configuring the computers
This chapter allows you to verify the configuration of your computer to access the BeWAN Wi-Fi
AP54’ web interface. To configure the Access Point which has a default IP address 192.168.1.250
with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, you should assign your computer a static IP address within
the addressing plan.
In this section, we describe the configuration for computers using the following operating systems:
Windows 98/Me, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
Note: here, we assume that the computers have Ethernet cards and that the TCP/IP protocol is
already installed. For questions relative to the installation and operation of Ethernet cards, refer to
the documentation provided by the card manufacturers.
With Windows 98 and Me
To assign your computer a fixed IP address compatible with the Access Point addressing plan and
thus access the Web interface, you should proceed as follows:
1. Click on
Start
, then point to
Settings
, and then click on
Control Panel
. Then double-click on
the
Network
icon.
2. In the group
The following network components are installed
, select
TCP/IP ->
name of
your network card
, then click on
Properties
.
3. In the
IP Address
tab in the
TCP/IP Properties
window, select the option
Specify an IP
address
