
Note the slots in the Pull start adapter plate. Loosely install 4 ea 3X18 SHCS, 8ea
special washers, and 4 ea 3m locknuts, with a special washer on the outside
AND the inside. A pair of bent needle nose pliers helps to get the locknuts
installed. All of these bolts are left loose so you can adjust the engine up and
down; fore and aft to set the gear meshes later on.
Check the orientation of the pull starter as it’s easier to change it now, than later.
The pic shows the orientation for right handed people. If you’re left handed, you
can rotate it CCW so the rope comes straight out in front of the carb.
