The selected sound information values are given below:
Mono Channel = (L + R)/2 (stereo forced to Mono)
Sound 1 or Sound 2 [dual mono(bilingual)]
Sound 1 or Sound 2 (from AV mode )
Sound 1 or Sound 2 or Sound 3 (Nicam 3)
Stereo Channel = L and R (either from Two sound carrier
FM stereo or from NICAM)
The sound type menu setting is stored for each input (Each TV program, AV1, AV2, Component, PC).
3.4.6. Channel Installation
(1) Frequency Synthesis Tuner
Any channel in the VHF, UHF, Inter or Hyper bands is accessible by entering the picture carrier
frequency. (For information on bands, see references: CCIR Standards.)
(2) Auto Installation
The TV will run 2 complete search in continuous frequency mode, one for BG, DKK’, I and one for
LL’. The search order depends upon the country selected by the user, France
⇒
LL’ first, any other
country
⇒
BGDKK’I first. During the BGDKK’I search (negative modulation), the routine stops on
any valid video signal and store the station if any FM sound carrier is found (5.5, 6, or 6.5MHz). If no
FM carrier, the station is rejected and the search goes on. During the LL’ search (positive modulation),
the routine stops on any valid video signal and store the station if any AM sound carrier is found. If no
AM carrier, the station is rejected and the search goes on. The continuous frequency search will capture
any channel from the lowest to the highest frequency receivable by the tuner.
(3) Auto Up-date Installation
The TV will be able to search automatically for new stations. The search order depends on the country
selected by the user. Only the new stations are being stored, and auto-sorting is not processed.
(4) Direct Frequency Access
The user can attempt to tune the set on a station by directly entering the frequency, if known.
(5) Manual Installation
In a pre-set transmission standard, the user has the possibility to search for a particular station at any
Tuner accessible frequency. This is particularly useful if a new station is being broadcasted and the user
wants only to add it without launching the auto installation or auto update again. The search will start
from the current program frequency.
(6) Fine Tuning
The user has to be able to finely adjust the frequency of the tuner in order to improve the received
picture and sound if necessary.
(7) Station Names
The station name of each program location will consist of maximum six characters. This will be filled
