BRAKE FLUID LEVEL INSPECTION
1. Stand the scooter on a level surface.
NOTE:
Make sure the scooter is upright when inspect-
ing the brake fluid level.
2. Stand the scooter on its centerstand.
3.
•
Inspect:
Brake fluid level
Brake fluid level is below the “LOWER”
level line
1
→ Fill to proper level.
Recommended brake fluid:
DOT#4
LOWER
NOTE:
①
For a correct reading of the brake fluid level,
make sure the top of the handlebar brake
•
fluid reservoir is horizontal.
If DOT#4 is not available, DOT#3 can be
used.
CAUTION:
Brake fluid may corrode painted surfaces or
plastic parts. Always clean up any split fluid im-
mediately.
Use only the designated brake fluid. Other
fluids may deteriorate the rubber seals,
causing leakage and poor brake perfor-
•
mance.
Refill with the same type of fluid. Mixing
fluids may result in a harmful chemical
reaction leading to poor brake perfor-
•
mance.
Be careful that water does not enter the
brake fluid reservoir during refilling. Wa-
ter will significantly lower the boiling
point of the fluid and may cause vapor
lock.
