5 Transport, packaging and storage
5.1 Safety instructions for transport
Improper transport
CAUTION
Damage due to improper transport
Improper transport can result in considerable
material damage.
For this reason:
– When unloading the packaged items during
delivery or during in-house transport, exercise
caution and observe the symbols and instructions
on the packaging.
– Only use the intended suspension points.
– Remove the packaging only immediately prior to
assembly.
Suspended loads
WARNING
Danger of death due to suspended loads
When loads are being lifted, falling or
uncontrollably swinging components pose a danger
to life and limb.
For this reason:
– Never step beneath suspended loads.
– Observe the specifications regarding the
provided suspension points.
– Do not suspend by protruding machine parts or
by the eyebolts of attached components.
– Make sure suspension equipment is attached
securely.
– Only use approved lifting devices and lifting
accessories with sufficient load-bearing capacity.
– Do not use cracked or chafed cables or belts.
– Do not attach cables and belts to sharp edges or
corners and do not knot or twist.
