4. Components of the X-series display
Devices in the system:
•
(1) Video source(s)
• (2) Client interface : via a web browser (currently only Google Chrome is supported) running on a device (laptop or desktop
computer). The customer device must be connected to the LAN connection on the NM100.
• (3) NP100(s) : Display Processor(s) (processing and retransmitting the connected video source(s) and the managing of the
connected display modules).
• (4) NM100 : Display Management Hardware (provides a web interface into the system).
• (5) Modular display(s)
• (6) NS100: Ambient Environment Controller
• (7) Ethernet switch
Connections between the devices:
•
(A) Video source connection
• (B) Client device connection
• (C) Device control connection
• (D) Display connection
In some system con fi gurations (e.g. only 1 NS100, only 1 NP100) the Ethernet switch (7) is not necessary.
Each NP100 has 2 control ports which can be used to loop the device control connection.
The NS100 can be connected to a PoE adapter (the supplied indoor PoE adapter or the optional outdoor PoE
adapter) or to a port of the Ethernet switch (if used). Note that the Ethernet switch must be conforming to the
IEEE 802.3af PoE standard.
The In fi nipix Suite, NM100 and NP100 have a dedicated User or Installation manual. These components are
not described in this document. Only the installation of the X-series components are described in this docu-
ment. Refer to the manuals of the In
fi nipix Suite, NM100 and NP100 for more information. All manuals can be
downloaded from the Barco website.
