10. Saving settings
To be able to return at any time to the entered configurations, the settings need to be saved. This is done by entering
the configuration menu and select “Recovery”.
Now go to “Save settings” and press <GO> on Beo4. Now all settings entered during this installation process are saved.
It will be possible to restore BeoMedia 1 to these settings in the future by following the recovery procedure (not
described in this document).
11. Maintaining system software
BeoMedia 1 is updated automatically via the Internet, as BeoMedia 1 contacts the server at Bang & Olufsen on a daily
basis to check whether a newer version of the installed program elements is available. If this is the case, the update is
downloaded in the background and stored on the hard disk without disturbing the user.
The following program elements in the BeoMedia 1 setup are updated:
Operating system (Embedded XP)
Antivirus program
Bang & Olufsen BeoMedia 1 software
Firmware
The new BeoMedia 1 program update is automatically installed at a predefined time, provided that BeoMedia 1 is not in
use. If it is in use, the system waits until the customer has excited the source menu, for example, PHOTO or N.RADIO. 1.
Editing PC
New BeoPlayer / BeoPort software
A new version of BeoPlayer / BeoPort is saved on BeoMedia 1, and the customer receives a message on the editing PC
informing him/her that an update is available for installation when the PC program is started.
A new version can be installed without removing a previous version first.
Note: the registration process should always be completed.
