Joystick Feed FWD/REV is a voltage input that measures the voltage coming from the joystick. When the
Joystick Feed FWD/REV is pushed right (Feed Forward) or left (Feed Reverse), a voltage will appear on the
input. If the joystick is pushed to the forward position, then the battery voltage should appear on the input. If
the Joystick is pushed to the left, then a voltage of approximately one half the battery voltage should appear
on the input. Feed forward on the joystick acts as a feed assist. A feed assist will spin the feed wheels forward
for approximately 500ms and times out. This means that the chipper cannot be continuously feeding forward
while in winch mode. Feed Forward on the joystick is disabled while the winch is stowed and not in winch
mode. Feed Reverse will function in any mode.
Winch In/Out is a voltage input that measures the voltage coming from the joystick. When the Winch In/Out is
pushed Up (Out) or Down (In), a voltage will appear on the input. If the joystick is pushed to the Down
position, then the battery voltage should appear on the input. If the Joystick is pushed Up, then a voltage of
approximately one half the battery voltage should appear on the input. All of these functions are disabled
when not in winch mode, but the input will still read a voltage when the joystick is manipulated.
Stop Cable is a Binary input that monitors the last chance cables. If connection is broken by the last chance
cable being pulled, the machine will go into an emergency mode that disables all chipper functions except
feed reverse and yoke up. This will allow anything in the feed wheels to be evacuated.
Winch Dock Sw is a Binary input that controls whether the machine is in winch mode. A zero on this input
means that the winch is docked and not in winch mode. A winch indicates the machine is in winch mode.
Pan Down Sw is a Binary input that monitors whether the feed pan is up or down. If the pan is not completely
down, all feed functions are disabled. If the feed On/Off switch is included on the machine then it is wired in
series with the Pan Down Sw. A 1 on this input indicates the Pan is down and feed is enabled.
Stop Bar Sw is a Binary input that monitors whether the Stop bar is pressed. Pressing either side of the stop
bar interrupts and disables feed forward but does not affect feed reverse.
The Feed FWD/REV buttons are both binary inputs that operate the feed wheels. If the Green Feed FWD
button is pressed and Feed forward is allowed, the machine will begin feeding forward and will keep feeding
forward when you let go of the button. If Feed Reverse is allowed, Feed REV button will reverse feed wheels
for as long as you press the button and will stop when you release it.
