BASIC MAINTENANCE CHECK LIST

After The First 10 Hours of Operation, Replace The Hydraulic Oil Filter/Filters
Daily:
Condition of Decals and Engine Gauges
Controls and Safety Systems Functioning
Secured Nuts, Bolts and Fittings
All Shields, Guards and Covers in Place
Hood Hinge Secure and Lubricated
Chipper Housing and Infeed Free of Debris
Condition of Chipper Disc / Drum
Correct Chipper Anvil Setting
Chipper Disc / Drum Rotates Freely
Fuel Level, Fuel Lines and Filters
Check Hoses, Fittings, Lines and Tanks
Check / Clean Aircleaner and Precleaner
Clean Radiator and Debris Screen
Check / Adjust Clutch Engagement
Condition and Pressure of Tires
Block Tires / Tongue Before Operation
Review and Follow Safety Instructions
Proper Knife Bolt / Nut Torque
Secured Proper Hood Pin
Functioning Spring Lock for Hood Pin
Chipper and Feed Wheel Bearings Greased
Correct Belt Tension Chipper / Pump
Hydraulic Motors / Couplers Secure
Hydraulic Oil Condition and Level Correct
Hydraulic Valves Shift Correctly
Condition of Chipper Knives and Hardware
Store and Secure All Tools and Parts
Inspect Engine (per Engine Manual)
Clean Fan and Shroud (Air-cool Engine)
Lubricate Clutch (per Clutch Manual)
Discharge Pointed in Safe Direction
Wear Personal Safety Equipment
Last Chance Cable System operates correct
Weekly:
Check Anvil Clearance, Fit and Wear
Check Alternator and Fan Belts
Check Spring Tension on Feed System
Check and Lube Feed Slide Box
Check / Secure Fuel and Hydraulic Tanks
Check Wheel Lug Nut Torques
Dry Lube Any Chain Drives
Lubricate Pivot & Hinge Areas
Monthly:
Check Towing Hitch Wear
Lubricate Pintle Ring Hitch
Check Feed Wheel Teeth Wear
Check Hydraulic System Pressure
Service Axle Bearings (per Mfg.)
Replace Axle Dust Caps as Needed
Check Discharge and Infeed Wear
Check Feed Wheel Motor Connections
Check Bolt Torques on Bearings / Sheaves
Check Tire Condition and Pressures
Check and Adjust Brake Systems
Lubricate Throttle Cable
Three Months:
Replace Hydraulic Filter (or 400 hours)
Grease Swivel Plates on Discharge
Yearly:
Change Hydraulic Oil - Flush Tank
Replace Hydraulic Suction Screen

allow vine-like material to trip or entangle
with you or your clothing. Can cause severe injury!
MUST
cut vine-like material into 4 to 5 foot pieces!
MUST
stop the chipper feed system and feed the
shortened pieces with the wooden push paddle!
MUST
always be positioned and prepared to
activate feed control handle!
DO NOT
feed vine-like material
into this machine unless you follow
the rules:
DO NOT
allow vine-like material to
lay in front of infeed hopper!

NOTICE
USE CORRECT KNIFE AND HARDWARE
DO NOT
use a size or style chipper knife, bolt or nut other
than factory approved for this chipper - see manual.
DO NOT
over torque or under torque knife bolts and
nuts - see manual.
DO NOT
resharpen knife more than minimum width - see
manual.
DO NOT
use a knife bolt or nut which has been tightened over (5)
times - replace.
DO NOT
improperly install the knife nuts. Flat
surface of nut goes toward the chipper disc.
DO
check the chipper disc/drum daily for secure welds, cracks,
excessive wear, torqued bolts, elongated bolt holes and/or
good bolt hole threads. If problem is found, contact chipper
manufacturer or authorized dealer.
