LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE
Daily Maintenance
•
Check daily for any unsafe conditions and fix immediately.
•
Check that all nuts and bolts are properly tightened.
•
Do a general cleaning by removing dust and metal chips from the machine.
•
Top off the coolant reservoir. (80% of full tank capacity)
•
Clean filter screen located on the machine base as often as necessary.
•
Check that the guard and emergency stop are in good working order.
Weekly Maintenance
•
Check the oil fill window. It is located on the side of the drill head and should be at least half
full at all times.
•
Thoroughly clean the machine including the coolant tank. See accessing and cleaning the
cooling system.
•
On a weekly basis clean the machine and the area around it.
•
Lubricate threaded components and sliding devices.
•
Apply rust inhibitive lubricant to all non-painted surfaces.
•
Clean and grease the sliding surfaces.
Monthly Maintenance
•
Check that all screws on the motor, the pump, and the guard are tight and secure.
•
Check that the guard is operating properly.
•
There is a grease fitting (V) on the side of the drill head pivot for lubricating the gear shaft.
Using a grease gun, inject grease through this fitting.
Note: Proper maintenance can increase the life expectancy of your machine.
WARNING:
Make sure the electrical disconnect is OFF before working on
the machine.
Maintenance should be performed on a regular basis by qualified personnel.
Always follow proper safety precautions when working on or around any machinery.
