Sensor Replacement
Be sure to perform all of the checks lsted n Secton 4.8.9 to ensure that
the O
2
sensor needs to be replaced.
Material Required:
• O
2
Sensor, P/N 24-8106
• #1 Phllps Screwdrver
Procedure:
1. Dsassemble the analyzer as follows:
a. Remove the battery cover and the batteres, uncoverng one of
the cover hold-down screws.
b. Remove and set asde all four cover hold-down screws.
c. Wth the analyzer on ts back, remove the front cover, layng t
face down to the left of the body.
d. Remove the battery connector from top of crcut board. Then
carefully remove the crcut board layng t face down n the
top cover.
2. Remove the O
2
sensor’s electrcal connector from the crcut board.
Then push down; twst counterclockwse; and then pull the O
2
sen-
sor out of ts socket (see Fgure 5-3).
Tip:
To obtain a better grip on the
O
2
sensor, it may be necessary to
remove the screw that secures the sensor socket to the case.
3. Usng the old sensor as a gude, remove the paper backng from the
new sensor gasket contaned n the replacement kt, and adhere t
to the new sensor.
4. Dspose of the old O
2
sensor n a proper manner (see the nstructon
sheet that comes wth the new sensor).
5. Mount the new O
2
sensor n ts socket. If the sensor socket was
removed n Step 2, re-attach t to the case.
6. Plug the O
2
sensor’s electrcal connector nto the prnted crcut
board (observe polarty, see Fgure 5-4), and then reassemble the
analyzer.
Note:
A new
O
2
sensor may take several hours to stabilize
after being connected to the printed circuit board.
