Using the Avaya 7406 Digital Mobile Handset Display
Buttons
The Avaya 7406 Digital Mobile Handset has a three-line display.
The three display buttons located under the display are used to interact with the handset menus and
the feature code messages that appear on the display.
•
The first line of the display shows handset messages and menu items.
•
The second line displays button labels in capital letters.
•
The third line displays the antenna/signal strength icon indicates when the handset is within
range of the base. As well, the battery icon shows the status of the battery.
Button Mapping on the Handset
When you have completed the steps in
“Handset Configuration” on page 16
, then, you can map the
feature buttons on your set.
The handsets have six feature buttons. These buttons can be programmed by your system
administrator. You can also program the buttons from your handset. The following section
describes the usual mapping of the buttons, based on the M7310 telephone button mapping.
The illustration below shows examples of the default button mapping for the handset.

Mobile Handset buttons and the M7310, Avaya 7316 and Avaya 7316E Avaya 7406 Digital
Mobile Handset telephones, which are standard telephones used for Avaya Norstar and Avaya
