Avaya 7406 Digital Mobile Handset — Installation Guide
You can talk continuously for up to five hours on the handset with a fully charged 1400 mAh
battery pack. A fully charged battery pack has a standby time up to 72 hours. Using the backlight
shortens talk and standby time.
Important battery pack information
Before you use the Avaya 7406 Digital Mobile Handset, read the following information.
This unit contains a rechargeable nickel metal hydride battery:
•
Follow the proper installation and charging procedures for the Avaya 7406 Digital Mobile
Handset battery pack. Refer to
“Charging the Avaya 7406 Digital Mobile Handset Battery
Pack” on page 12
.

The rechargeable battery pack must be fully charged before you use the Avaya 7406 digital
mobile handset for the first time.
•
It takes approximately three hours to charge a standard 1400 mAh battery pack.
•
It takes approximately 12 hours to trickle charge the spare battery in the charging cradle.
Nickel metal hydride batteries are recyclable. You can help preserve the environment by returning
your unwanted batteries to your nearest recycling center for recycling or proper disposal.

Indicates battery pack is
completely

The battery level icons show approximate charge status values.

Mobile Handset with any other product. These batteries were designed specifically for
use with the Avaya 7406 Digital Mobile Handset and the Avaya 7406 Digital Mobile
Handset charger ONLY. Improper use of the Avaya 7406 digital Digital Mobile Handset
batteries may result in fire hazard.

Do not do anything that would cause the battery to short circuit.
•
Do not charge the battery with any charger other than the one supplied with this
equipment.
