Instructions for use
When the compressor and its hydraulic hoses are connected to the loader as shown in his manual, the
compressor is ready after initial checks.
When the compressor is needed, leaving the driver’s seat is allowed only when the loader is parked on firm
and level ground so that the moving of the loader is prevented by using suitable means in addition the
parking brake as needed. The loader boom must always be lowered. Other persons must not be allowed to
reach the driver’s seat of a loader that has been left running to operate the compressor, so that the loader
will remain still in safe position while in use. The loader must not be left running for long periods. Things to
monitor include the hydraulic oil and coolant temperatures of the loader.
Unintended moving of the loader or wrong control
movement of the controls cause hazard of crushing. Start or
stop the attachment only when sitting on the driver’s seat,
when the compressor is in upright position close to ground
surface. Always lock the parking brake, turn the articulated
frame straight and ensure that the loader will stay still and
stable before leaving the driver’s seat. Prevent other people
from reaching the controls of the loader.
6.1.
Checks before use
■
Operate the compressor only when the loader is parked and the boom is lowered.
■
Ensure that during use the compressor is in upright position.
■
Check the condition of the compressor, leakages, cleanliness, cooling fan, and oil level. See list of
checks in Chapter 7.2 and other instructions regarding maintenance, service and checks in chapter
7.
■
Only use tools that are in good condition and make sure that the connected pneumatic systems are
safe. Ensure that the connected tool or system will work with the 8 bar pressure produced by the
compressor.
6.2.
Starting the compressor
Start the compressor by turning the auxiliary hydraulics control lever toward its locking position. There are no
adjustable settings on the compressor. Correct operating speed is adjusted by controlling the loader engine
rpm, to set auxiliary hydraulics output of the loader to correct level (23-25 l/min, see operator’s manual of the
loader).
The speed control valve will compensate excess hydraulic oil flow of about 10-20 l/min. However, the
maximum input must not be exceeded and the output flow of the loader must be set as correct as possible. If
the loader is equipped with two auxiliary hydraulic pumps, using both pumps is possible only when the loader
engine rpm is low.
Unnecessarily high engine rpm will heat the hydraulic oil. Set the engine rpm and
auxiliary hydraulics oil output to correct level for compressor.
