Motorway Driving
Speed Limits (UK)
If a speed limit is not in force, your campervan
can be driven up to 70mph on motorways
and dual carriageways. See the highway
code and/or Government websites for further
information about speed limits.
1.
Reduce Speed:
i)
In high or cross winds.
ii)
Downhill.
iii)
In poor visibility.
2.
High sided vehicles cause air
buffeting, so extra care must be
taken when passing or being
passed. As much space as possible
should be given.
Motorway Handling
When passing other vehicles allow more than
the normal clearance.
Allow longer to get up speed to pass. Do not
swing out suddenly.
Carry out all manoeuvres as smoothly as
possible.
Use nearside wing mirror to check campervan
has cleared whilst overtaking.
Changing a Wheel
Refer to the vehicle handbook.
WARNING:
Ensure the wheel is of the same
construction and size as the one that has been
removed.
Jacking
Front and Rear - use the standard jacking
points as per the base vehicle handbook.
Removing the Spare Wheel
CAUTION: Exercise care when lowering the
wheel frame due to its weight.
Access Step
Your campervan has an electrically operated
entrance step. In the event of the rear step
being left extended, a buzzer, positioned
behind the dashboard, will sound (when the
ignition is switched on) - and will continue to do
so until the step has been fully retracted.
Changing a Light Bulb
The front marker lights, all lamps fitted on the
back panel and the side marker lights (where
fitted) are LED type and should not normally
require any attention.
To change any base vehicle bulbs, please refer
to the base vehicle handbook.
Whilst Driving
Whilst the vehicle is being driven ensure that;
•
The passengers and driver wear seat belts -
this is a legal requirement. Passengers may
only be carried in seats where there are seat
belts fitted.
•
Please note that Auto-Sleepers advises
against the retrofitting of additional seat
belts.
•
Heavy loads are not stored in top cupboards
or in areas from which they may become
detached. Please ensure that heavy items
are stored low down and take care not to
overload individual wheels, the axles or the
MTPLM.
•
Table(s) are stowed in the correct position
and table legs secured in their retaining
clips. Do not travel with the table in front
of the forward facing seat if the seat is
occupied, as this may constitute an injury
hazard in the event of an accident.
•
Furniture lids are lowered; cupboards and
flaps are closed and secured.
•
The refrigerator door is closed and secured
by its travelling catch.
•
The retractable step is retracted.
