4.6 INTERNET ACCESS AND DATA CONNECTION
A Personal Computer connected to the C
EL
L
INE
®
RS-232 plug allows you to establish a data
connection with another PC via the GSM network. To transmit/receive files between a local
and a remote PC (also via internet), use a dedicated commercial application, such as
Audiotel Connect, Hyperterminal, Procomm Plus, Telix, etc. To establish PC fax
connections, use software packages such as Delrina WinFax 8 or greater.
To establish internet connections, Win95/98, NT, 2000 and XP are able to recognize
automatically C

driver as “Standard Modem”.
4.6.1 Originated data call
Launch an application, such as Procomm Plus or Telix, and type:
ATD<Address>
, where:
<Address>
is the called number.
One of the following responses is received:
1.
CONNECT<Speed>
: the connection is successful, where
<Speed>
is the connecting baud
rate.
2.
BUSY
: the called number is engaged.
3.
NO ANSWER
: the called number does not answer, or the PC may be off or not ready to
communicate.
4.
NO CARRIER
:
the connection is lost for whatever reason.
If the response is
CONNECT<Speed>
then you can proceed to give the commands to
sendfiles (see the instruction given in the manual of the current application).
It is possible to terminate an originated data call by typing the command
ATH
. If a call is
ended by the remote PC, the
NO CARRIER
message is displayed.
4.6.2 Incoming data call
An application, such as Procomm Plus or Telix, must be currently running on the local PC in
order to receive a data communication.
An incoming data call is indicated by the message
+CRING ASYNC
for a transparent
connection, or
+CRING REL ASYNC
for a non-transparent connection (
RLP
).
To enable an extended report, type the command
AT+CR=1, AT+CRC=1
.
To accept an incoming data call, type the command
ATA
or in automatic way by typing the
command
ATS0=1
.
If the

ATS0=1
autoanswer command is disabled.
