11. Appendix
11.1 General Problems
The signal is lost when the power is turned off. The FNER is an active switch which requires power to maintain the
crosspoint connections. If power is turned off the signal no longer passes
through.
Several options referred to in the manual are
not coming up on the display.
In order to see all the options you must be logged in as Admin and the
access control for local has to be on also.
The LCD is blank except for a row of dim blocks.
Firmware has been corrupted. Contact ATX Networks for new firmware
and download instructions.
The unit does not remember the previous
switch settings/switch size after power has
been removed and restored.
Contact ATX Networks for service.
Front Panel displays “download firmware” and it
won’t do anything
You are in firmware download mode. The only solution is to download
firmware or cycle power.
1. Cycling power will not corrupt or change any settings but it will interrupt
the crosspoint connections while it reboots.
2. Downloading firmware will overwrite the entire system and set all
values back to FNER defaults. Refer to the

I am a qualified technician and would like to try
to fix a problem myself.
A warranty covers all units. Only ATX Networks, or a representative
of ATX Networks, should make any repairs. Removing any part of the
chassis will void the warranty. Additionally, attempting to repair a unit
could be dangerous.
11.2 Front Panel LEDs
The front panel LED is not lit.
This indicates the unit is not receiving power.
1. Check to see if the power switch is in ON.
2. Make sure that the AC cables are properly connected.
3. Check the fuse located just above the power cord (if equipped).
4. Verify with a volt meter that the AC source is available. If the problem
isn’t with the AC supply, contact ATX Networks for service.
