NOTICE: If your installation does not meet the minimum
clearances shown, you must do one of the following:
• raise the mantel to an acceptable height
• remove the mantel
BUILT-IN FIREPLACE INSTALLATION
1. Frame in rough opening. The fi replace framing must be con-
structed of steel stud material. Steel studs are provided and are
permanently fi xed amount the perimeter of the unit. Use dimen-
sions in Table 1 and rough opening layout in
Figure 4a
. Adjust
framing so that fi replace is fl ush with fi nished wall surface. If
installing in a corner, use dimensions in
Figures 4b and 4c
for
rough opening.
2. Install gas piping to fi replace location
(see Connecting to Gas
Supply,
Page 9
).
3. Carefully set fi replace in front of rough opening with back of
fi replace inside wall opening.
4. Carefully insert fi replace into rough opening.

The fi replace enclosure must allow for adequate drainage and fresh
air ventilation. It is recommended that a sealed, corrosion resistant
catch pan with provision for drainage be installed under fi replace
within fi replace enclosure

INSTALLING FIREPLACE SCREEN
1. Insert each rod through all rings located at top of screen.
2. Insert fi rst rod into rear hole in left side of fi replace. Fasten rod to
rear hole near center of fi replace using #10 x 3/8" Phillips screw
provided
(see
Figure 6
).
3. Insert other rod into front hole on right side of fi replace and fasten
using remaining Phillips screw.
