Maintenance ESM cutter bar
Cleaning the cutter bar
Observe the information in chapter of the device carrier.
Clean the cutter bar thoroughly after each use.
Stuck grass cuttings and dirt impair the cutting quality and in-
crease wear.
Remove stubborn dirt with a wooden or plastic spatula.
Only spray the cutter bar with a jet of water! Do not use any
aggressive cleaning agents.
General inspection
Observe the information in chapter of the device carrier.
Immediately replace damaged or worn parts of the blade
drive and blades (authorised service centre).
Check the blade drive for leaks and good condition.
In case of leaks contact an authorised service centre.
Checking the blade
The cutter blades of the upper and lower blades must be
sharp for a good cutting pattern and low power input from the
drive. Cutting edges that have been damaged by stones or
other objects must be re-sharpened in a specialist workshop
or the blade replaced.
Servicing the cutter bar
Warning
Wear or damage on the blades and the fastening elements
can result in the blades or the fastening elements coming
off.
► Check the blades and all fastening elements according
to the following instructions.
Warning
There is a considerable risk of injury due to improperly
mounted and maintained blades.
► Work at blades must be carried out by an authorised
service centre.
To clean the cutter bar and all sliding and guiding surfaces,
remove the upper blade after each mowing.
1. Using a screwdriver, raise the upper blade guide arms.
2. If necessary, remove the blade guard.
3. Tilt the upper blade forwards with both hands and remove
the upper blade.
4. Lift the lower blade with a screwdriver and remove the
