You can configure or modify the following SOL parameters using standard IPMI commands or 
the 

ipmitool

. Observe that channel 1 and 2 shall get different IP addresses that may be 

completely independent of payload base interface addresses. Set the 

netmask

 initialization 

according to your environment or setup.

7.1.1

Configuring using Standard IPMI Commands

This example shows how to setup the SOL configuration parameter with standard IPMI 
commands. Initialize this parameter according to your environment.

The 

ipmicmd

 is used on the local IPMC and the IP is configured. The 

ipmicmd

 is part of the 

open IPMI package provided in BBS. For more details about BBS, refer to 

Basic Blade Services 

Software on ATCA-7490 Programmer’s Reference

 manual. 

Sample Procedure

To set the IP address:

1. Establish an IPMI connection to the blade.

2. Set LAN Configuration Parameter Set In Progress Lock.

ipmicmd -k "f 0 c 1 1 0 1" smi 0

3. Set LAN Configuration Parameter Set IP (

172.16.10.11

 on channel 1).

ipmicmd -k "f 0 c 1 1 3 ac 10 00 dc" smi 0

4. Set LAN Configuration Parameter Set In Progress Commit.
