CONNECTED-NIC
shows the card’s network interfaces that are provided to RMS.
Each card provides two devices to RMS i.e. I210 ( pxpx ) and plxcnicx , which are connected
to Skylake’s I219 and plxcnic0 respectively.

CONNECT-IP
is the IP address that will be assigned to the CONNECTED-NIC locally.
5.
CLIENT-IP
is the IP address that will be served when a client requests for an IP via DHCP
on CONNECTED-NIC.
[root@dell-server ~]# /opt/bladeservices/tools/pcie7210-1-tool.sh
–-write-dhcp-conf
This command will assign the previous configuration and writes to the corresponding
configuration files.
To bring the change into effect, perform the following instructions.

Restart network
systemctl restart network

Restart dhcpd daemon
systemctl restart dhcpd
Then

Run
/opt/bladeservices/tools/lseth
to see the IP address assigned to each of
the local interfaces.

Run dhclient on Skylake-H plxcnic0 interface to get the CLIENT-IP from RMS server.
[root@dell-server ~]# /opt/bladeservices/tools/pcie7210-1-tool.sh
–-cmd 192.168.16.2 poweroff
The above command will run “
poweroff
” command on the card’s Skylake-H CPU which has
an IP address of 192.168.16.2.
This command works only when previous command “
--write-dhcp-conf
” is fully
executed and dhclient is run on plxcnic0 on the Skylake-H CPU.
5.6.2.1 Skylake-H

DHCP requests are started by default on plxcnic0 interface

DHCP requests are not started by default on I219 interface. User needs to manually run
dhclient on I219 interface to fetch the IP address from Server.
