5.5 Network Configuration
For each card, Skylake-H and Host CPU are assigned with vNIC each. vNIC on Skylake-H will try
to fetch the IP via DHCP server running on the Host CPU. On RMS, a DHCP server will be
listening on each of its
vNIC interfaces. Once the DHCP server receives requests from its
Skylake-H CPU, it will assign a unique IP address based on the subnet on which the request is
received. Once the IP address is assigned to Skylake-H
vNIC interface, Host CPU and Skylake-H
can communicate with each other on vNIC interface.
The following table shows network connectivity between Quark, Skylake-H and Host
subsystem. At present, there is no network path from Quark to Skylake-H or Host CPU.
5.6 pcie7210-1-tool.sh
This utility is provided to be executed on host server and is part of the host server rpm.
Following are the top level features provided by this utility. This utility works with Dell R730.

Lists the number of cards inserted in the RMS.

Assigns static IP address to vNIC assigned to host.

Modifies DHCP server configuration file to assign IP addresses to SKYLAKE vNIC and
Skylake-H I219 devices based on subnets.

Provides mechanism to execute any Linux commands remotely on Skylake-H processor
from host server.
5.6.1 Change Mac address of PLX vNIC devices
By default all PLX vNIC devices will have same mac-address, assign the following mac-address
before starting the tool.
ifconfig pexnic0 hw ether 00:0e:0f:00:05:10
ifconfig pexnic1 hw ether 00:0e:0f:00:05:11
