3.1 CPU Complex
The CPU complex of the PCIE-7210-1 card comprises of an Intel E3-1578L v5 processor and a
PCH.
3.1.1 Intel Skylake-H Processor
Skylake-H is an Intel
®
Xeon
®
E3-1585 v5 64 bit multi core processor built on 14 nm process
technology. It has integrated GPU with enhanced graphics processing performance, supports
GT2 and GT4 graphics configuration. This is H line processor offered in multi chip platform and
connected to a discrete Intel
®
100 Series Chipset Family PCH on the motherboard.
3.1.2 Platform Controller Hub
Intel C230 series chipset family PCH provides support for Skylake-H processor.The PCH
supports all the IO functions used in conjunction with Intel CPU.
3.2 Intel Quark SoC device
The Intel Quark SoC processor is the next generation secure, low-power Intel architecture for
deeply embedded applications. The SoC integrates the Intel Quark SoC Core and all the
required hardware components to run off the-shelf operating systems and to leverage the vast
x86 software ecosystem. The SoC processor provides on-die boot RAM that is used to establish
hardware Root of Trust (RoT) which enables usage of secure applications.
3.3 Memory
The Skylake-H CPU is connected to two SODIMM DDR4 modules of 8 GB each. Quark SoC
processor is connected to two memory chips of DDR3 standard of 512 MB each at a data rate
of 1866 MT/s.
3.4 PEX9716 Switch
The PEX9716 is 16-Lane, five port PCI Express Gen 3 switch which enables to build a high-
performance, low-latency, scalable, and cost-effective PCI Express-based fabric.
