Chapter 2. Security Measures

The  saTECH  RIO  must  only  be  handled  by  qualified  personnel.  Incorrect
handling can cause injury and damage to the units and/or the facilities

saTECH  RIO

must  be  disconnected  or  “de-energised”  before  opening.

Contact  with  hazardous  voltages  and  currents  inside  this  equipment  can
cause, among others, electric shocks resulting in injury or death.

saTECH  RIO  must  always  be  connected  to  a  protective  earth  during
normal  operating  conditions,  tests,  demonstrations  or  any  situation  in
which  it  is  to  be  energized.  The  use  of  the  unit  without  proper  grounding
can cause damage to saTECH  RIO, as well as injuries in the event of an
accident.

Never  connect or  disconnect a  cable and/or  connector  to/from  a  saTECH
RIO  during  normal  operation.  Existing  dangerous  currents  and  voltages
can be lethal. Operation may be interrupted and the saTECH  RIO and the
measurement circuit may be damaged.

The saTECH RIO

’s electronic circuits may be damaged if exposed to static

electricity (ESD). To avoid injury, always avoid touching the circuitry when
the covers are removed.

When  the  covers  are  removed  the  voltage  circuits  are  exposed.  Do  not
touch  the  circuits  while  they  are  operating.  The  voltages  and  currents
present can cause death.

Contact  with  the  terminals  of  the  measuring  instruments  can  cause
electrical  shocks  that  can  result  in  injury  or  death.  Always  use  insulated
test poles when measuring signals in an open circuit.
