To Lift from the Floor
(5 steps)

Put the sling down behind the resident’s back and bring the
leg pieces of the sling into position.

Place the resident’s legs over the chassis and bring the lift
into position.
(See Fig. 1)

With the jib as low as possible, attach the shoulder loops.

Bend up the resident’s knees to help the connection of the
leg pieces.
Once the sling has been positioned and attached securely to
the loop bar then lifting can be carried out using the hand
control.
To Lift with a Large Loop Bar
(3 steps)
The large loop bar has two extra attachment hooks for the leg
straps.
(See Fig. 2)
Follow the same lifting methods as described for the regular loop
bar except:

The legs straps are to be attached to the hook closest to the
legs.

The back side of the sling closest to the shoulders hooks of
the loop bar.
Once the sling has been positioned and attached securely to
the loop bar then lifting can be carried out using the hand
control.
CAUTION
Make sure that the sling is not put around or
caught under the legs of the Maxi Twin. This
might damage the spreader bar during the
lifting.

To avoid the resident falling, make sure that
sling clips or loops are securely attached before
as well as during the lifting initiation.
