9. Printing
9.1 Introduction
Team3 incorporates a thermal printing system for use with continuous fan-fold thermal paper. It is virtually
silent, rendering it unobtrusive in operation.
9.2 Paper options
The printing system is optimised for use with plain Sonicaid thermal print paper, although alternative paper
trays are available as accessories to facilitate the use of Philips or GE/Corometrics paper. Note that the
printout options available with alternative paper types may be restricted due to difference in size compared to
the Sonicaid paper.
Standard thermal print paper fades over a period of time – typically up to 5 years depending on storage
conditions. If it is necessary to guarantee a longer storage time for paper traces, the use of Architrace paper is
recommended. This has a 25 year rated lifetime. Alternatively, consider the use of Central Monitoring Software
which allow traces to be stored and archived electronically.
9.3 Paper care and handling
To preserve the life of the paper, both before and after printing, it should be stored indoors at a temperature of
18-25°C, and with a relative humidity of 40-60%.
Do not expose to UV light sources such as direct sunlight or fluorescent lighting.
Do not allow the paper to come into contact with the following:
• Carbon and carbonless forms
• Wet-type diazo copy paper
• Chart papers or adhesives containing Tributyl-phosphate
• Dibutyl-phosphate or other organic solvents
• Envelopes or folders composed of plastics containing plasticizers
• Solvents or solvent-containing products, which include Alcohol, Ketones, Esters, Ethers or derivates
from this chemical group
• Petroleum solvents like Gasoline, Toluene or Benzene
• Greasy substances like Lanolin (e.g. Hand-lotion), Lard, Butter Oil or Vegetable Oil.
• Any heat source.
