Driving
6.1
Check list
Before driving, check the following items:
– Perfect functioning of foot brake, hand brake, and parking brake (refer to
section 7.5)
– Adequate brake fluid level (refer to section 7.5)
– Perfect functioning of the gears (with running engine and activated brake)
– Free and unimpaired movement of the thumb throttle
– Tightness of thumb throttle stop screw
– Functioning of the 2WD/4WD selector switch
– Proper functioning of the lighting system (high beam, low beam, position lights,
indicators, number plate lighting)
– Function of the status and warning displays in the gauge
– Adequate engine oil level (refer to section 7.2)
– Functioning and condition of the shock absorbers and wheel suspensions (free
movement, escaping fluid) (refer to section 7.4)
– Free and unimpaired steering movement
– Adequate tyre tread depth and specified tyre pressure (refer to section 7.8)
– Fill level of the liquids (brake fluid, coolant, oil)
6.2
Climbing on / climbing off
Climbing onto the vehicle (driver):
1. From the left-hand side, grip left-hand handlebar and activate hand brake.
2. Place left foot on the footrest.
3. Grip right-hand handlebar.
4. Swing right leg over the seat and place right foot on right-hand footrest.
5. Sit down comfortably.
Always leave the feet on the footrests.
NOTE
Observe the national laws and regulations with regard to transport and
traffic.
CAUTION
Before every ride, check the condition of the vehicle and the operational
safety with the aid of the following check list. Only use the vehicle in perfect
technical condition.
