20.12 Replacing the Optional Fan Thermal Sensor
Before you begin:
•
Ensure the fireplace is off and cool before servicing.
•
Disconnect power supply to the fireplace and turn off gas supply.
•
Flip down the control access cover (see
Section 6.4
)
Figure 20.12.01:
Step 1:
The thermal sensor is located under the firebox. Begin
by removing the fan power cord mounting bracket and fan speed
control / piezo igniter bracket.

Step 2:
Pull the sensor from under the firebox. Mark each wire
and disconnect.
CAUTION:
Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous
operation. Verify proper operation after servicing. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with
local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the
National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, or the Canadian Electrical code,
CSA C22.1

. Improper servicing, adjustment or
alteration of this appliance may cause property damage, personal injury or loss of life. All servicing should be conducted
with the appliance cold. All replacement parts must be authorized by Ambiance for suitability.
Step 3:
Installation is the reverse of removal. Light the fireplace
and verify proper operation of fan to complete replacement.
