CARE & MAINTENANCE

Transportation:

One of the best features of high-quality inflatable kayaks is that they are extremely

portable. When packed into original storage bag this product fits easily into a closet for storage and the

back of most cars for transport.

Inflated kayaks can be transported on roof racks with adequate straps including bow and stern lines.

Monitor sun exposure – be careful not to exceed working pressure.

A well-packed kayak can typically go on most airlines without oversize baggage charges. A 4-piece

Aquaglide paddle will ensure paddle fits in the bag too. This kayak includes an extremely durable travel

bag, which is recommended for airline travel with any Aquaglide kayak. See our website, Aquaglide.com
for details.

Proper cleaning, maintenance, and storage is essential to help prolong the life of your product. Do not
use petroleum-based cleaners on this product. Improper use of a pressure washer can damage or
destroy the product.

Basic Cleaning:

Always rinse product thoroughly with fresh water after use in salt water or any water

containing large amount of sediment or algae. This helps prevent buildup of dirt particles which can
accelerate wear. For deeper cleaning, use soft bristly brush or sponge with mild soap and fresh water.

Difficult Cleaning:

For heavy stains, marine growth, algae, mold, dirt and oils use a non-caustic

cleaning product like Simple Green or citrus-based cleaner after checking to confirm compatibility. Also,

check with your distributor, or on our website, Aquaglide.com for commercial-grade cleaning solutions.

UV Protectant:

This product is made with UV inhibitors and UV-resistant materials. However, long-

term exposure to sunlight will reduce product life and can damage the product.  Regularly apply a UV
protectant to exposed surfaces to help ensure the life of your product. Duratex kayaks require a UV

protectant specifically designed for PVC. Find more information on professional-grade UV protectants

from your distributor, or on our website, Aquaglide.com.

Replacement parts:

Items like bladders, valves, PRV’s, straps, handles, rings and other accessories

can occasionally wear out and need replacement to maintain the full function of your product. Check with
your distributor, or on our website, Aquaglide.com for available parts and replacement instructions.

STORAGE

Clean, Protect, Dry:

Clean product and consider applying UV protectant before storage. UV protectant

conditions the material and will help protect against dirt accumulation during storage. Confirm product is

completely dry before folding.

Deflate & Fold:

Deflate product completely. Consider using pump in ‘deflate’ mode to remove air.

Leave valves open to vent trapped air during folding. Fold deflated product in similar manner to original
packaging. If uncertain, fold side tubes inward lengthwise, then flat roll from front to back - toward the

valves. Remove seats and footrests from hull for tighter packing. Place in original storage bag.

Storage:

Store the product out of direct sunlight and protect from environment in a clean, dry location

such as a sealed closet, crate or container to prevent against rodent damage. Never store in a damp
location or at temperatures below 40 F (4 C).
