Electrical system / Controls and adjustments

6. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Once the mechanical installation procedure has been
completed, carry out the electrical connections in accordance
with the following instructions.

Warning

!

•

These operations must be carried out by qualifi ed
personnel, and in accordance with the applicable
regulations

•

Before carrying out the electrical connection
procedure, read the instructions describing the
electronic control unit and ensure that these are
adhered to

•

Before connecting to the electrical supply,
disconnect the unit power supply line from the
mains. Protect the power supply by installing a 6A
automatic differential breaker with a trip threshold
of 30 mA (fi g.7-ref.8).

Ensure that the cables used for the electrical
connections are capable of handling the motor
rated power, in accordance with the applicable
regulations.

The electrical panel must be equipped with a main power
switch, complete with thermal protection rated according
to the characteristics of the barrier. The panel and safety
devices must be manufactured and installed in accordance
with the applicable regulations.
When selecting the panel it must be remembered that, if the safety
photocells are activated while the barrier is closing, there is a short
pause, after which the barriers are opened completely.
The control and command accessories must be located
within sight of the automated unit, away from moving parts
and at a height of at least 1.5 m above ground level.
Accessories (photocells, fl ashing lamps etc.) must be
connected as indicated in

fi g.7

, and according to the specifi c

instructions provided with each device.

Fig. 7

illustrates a complete installation, with all the auxiliary

components necessary to ensure correct operation of the
barrier in accordance with the regulations.

The installer is responsible for deciding which
additional accessories may be required, depending on
the characteristics of the area where the barrier is to
be installed.

7. CONTROLS AND ADJUSTMENTS

7.1 LIMIT

SWITCH

The limit switches are located on either side of the reducer
and are activated by the two cams (

fi g.8-ref.1

) mounted

on the rotating shaft.
The cams must operate the limit switch levers slightly in advance
of the barrier reaching the fully opened or fully closed position
in order to compensate for the inevitable inertia produced by
the movement. This advance must be set up depending on
the type of use, by adjusting the cam dowels.

Caution

To ensure that the barrier works properly, make sure
that the limit switches are connected correctly to the
control unit. Fig. 8-A illustrates the limit switch function
in the standard confi guration (right hand barrier). Fig.
8-B illustrates the limit switch function in cases where
the barrier is mounted in the left hand confi guration.
