// 9. BRAKE SYSTEM
9.1 Checking the brake discs
9.2 Checking the brake fluid level of the front and rear brakes
Danger of accidents
Worn-out brake discs reduce the braking effect.
• Make sure that worn-out brake discs are replaced
immediately. (Your authorized Apollo workshop will be glad
to help.)
• Check the thickness of the front and rear brake discs at
multiple points on each brake disc to ensure it is at least
thickness A.
Brake discs - wear limit
Front 2.5 mm (0.098 in)
Rear 3.5 mm (0.138 in)
If the brake disc thickness is less than the specified value:
• Change the front brake discs.
• Change the rear brake disc.
Check the front and rear brake discs for damage, cracking, and deformation.
If the brake disc exhibits damage, cracking, or deformation:
• Change the front brake discs.
• Change the rear brake disc.
Wear reduces the thickness of the brake disc around the area used by the brake linings.
Danger of accidents
LAn insufficient brake fluid level will cause the brake system to fail.
If the brake fluid level drops below the specified marking or the specified value, the brake system is lea-
king or the brake linings are worn down.
• Check the brake system and do not continue riding until the problem is eliminated. (Your authorized
Apollo workshop will be glad to help.)
