Equipment maintenance
Brakes
Ensure the brakes are working correctly. When pressing the lever, the brake must provide
a positive braking action. When applying the brake with the speed control on, the brake
switch must stop the engine. Make sure the brakes are not skidding.
Frame, fork and handlebar
Check for cracks or broken connections. Although it is rare for frames to break, it is
possible for an aggressive driver to crash into a curb or wall and break the frame. Ensure
the scooter is inspected regularly.
Wheel
Regularly inspect the wheels for excessive wear.
Safety equipment
Always wear the appropriate clothing, such as an approved safety helmet and elbow and
knee pads. Always wear athletic shoes (high-laced trainers with rubber soles). Never ride
barefoot or with sandals – always keep laces tied.
Battery
Ensure the power is off when not in use. Never store the product in freezing
temperatures. If frozen, the battery will be permanently damaged.
Before Mounting
Before using always check the following:
● Safety helmet (may be legally required by local law or regulation in your area).
● Elbow and knee pads.
● Long-sleeved shirt and long pants.
● Gloves.
● Trainers with high laces and smooth soles. Never ride barefoot or with sandals. Make
sure laces are always tied.
Brake
Check the brakes are working properly. When tightening the brake lever, the rear wheel
must be reduced / stopped without undue strain. When applying the brake with the speed
button, the engine should stop. Make sure the brakes are not skidding when the lever is
not being tightened. Do not ride the scooter if the brakes are not working properly.
Speed Button
When the power is on, the scooter will move forward when the speed button is pressed –
ensure you are in an open and safe outdoor space. Keep both hands on the handlebar.
Wheel
Inspect wheels for excessive wear and replace if necessary.
Frame, Fork and Components
Always inspect the scooter before riding, checking for cracks, wear, broken or loose
components that need repair or replacing.
