Introduction

The PWS1005W power supply provides up to 1000 watts of precision power to a 12, 24, 32, 36,

48, or 72 (Rail) VDC electrical system from a 110 or 220 VAC source.
Designed for service in the most unforgiving environments, the PWS1005W has an operational

temperature range spanning -40°C to +55°C. The unit’s rugged chassis is built to be water and dust

resistant to meet the IP66 rating, while internal components are sealed with additional RTV silicone

for maximum vibration and shock protection.
Internally, the recently updated single board design incorporates time-tested switch-mode

technology for unmatched efficiency and ultra-quiet operation. New circuit innovations reduce

output ripple to levels previously only available from bulky, inefficient linear power supplies. In

addition, multiple stages of filtering on the input and output reduce radiated and conducted noise

to very low levels.
Built for the safest operation possible, reliability features built into the PWS1005W include

an input fuse, thermal shutdown, under voltage shutdown, and short circuit shutdown, all

with automatic recovery. Devices connected to the power supply are protected by an output

over voltage crowbar circuit and output current limiting. All these alarm states and the unit’s

operating condition are easily monitored on the bright and easy-to-read LED Indicator display.
