7.10.2. CHARGING THE BATTERIES
Use only the supplied external charger or a charger approved by Logo Silver. Do not use an
automotive type battery charger.
The charger will not work if the batteries have been drained to an extremely low voltage. If this
happens, contact your dealer for assistance.
Completely charge new batteries before using.
After four or five charge cycles the batteries should function to their maximum potential.
7.10.3. BATTERY BREAKING-IN
It is important to take care of the battery during the “breaking-in” period in order to optimise its
lifespan.
• Ensure that the battery is fully charged before it’s first use.
• Use the wheelchair normally, avoiding complete draining of the batteries during the
first five cycles.
• Fully charge the battery the first 20 cycles to complete the “breaking-in” process.
WARNING !
The battery terminals and their accessories contain lead, wash your
hands after handling them.
WARNING !
Batteries contain corrosive chemicals. Use only AGM or gel
electrolyte batteries to reduce the risk of leakage or explosive
conditions.
WARNING !
When changing the batteries, make sure that their terminals do not
touch the chair frame.
WARNING !
Automotive batteries and chargers should not be used on an electric
wheelchair.
NOTE
The capacity of the battery is reduced when it is new, it improves
during the breaking-in process.
