Off-road recommended pressure
Maximum pressure depending on tyre capacity
0,4 bar / 5 psi / 38 kPa
Max 0,48 bar / 7 psi / 48 kPa
1,6 bar / 24 psi / 165 kPa
DANGER !
Over-inflated tyres may explode and cause physical harm.
The recommended pressure is indicated on the side of the tyre.
WARNING !
Under-inflated tyres can be dangerous and are more exposed to
the risk of punctures. Incorrect tyre pressure can be harmful to the
performance of the wheelchair and presents risks.
7.5.7. TYRE PRESSURE
The tyre pressure must be adjusted according to the terrain.
Off-road (bumpy terrain, irregularities, fields, paths, mud, sand, snow...) it is recommended to
maintain a low tyre pressure (between 0.4 and 0.5 bar), this provides a greater comfort. Less
inflated tires provide better traction in mud, sand and snow.
To drive on firmer and smoother surfaces (asphalt), the tyres can be inflated to a maximum
pressure of 1.6 bar - depending on the user’s weight, preferences and on their driving ability.
The table below will assist in adjusting the tyre pressure on asphalt. It is recommended not to
inflate the tyres beyond 1.65 bar.
Tyre inflation should be checked weekly. All tyres are fitted with SCHRADER valves and can be
inflated with most automotive pumps - by hand, foot, or by using a compressor.
