AMX TDS (Television Delivery System)
Serial Commands
Overview
Direct user interface to both the Transmitter and the Receiver is done via the RS232 serial connection. All
commands available via UDP are available via serial.
Each tuner broadcasts and receives on the same IP, with the port set to
5000
on the main PCB tuner
and
5001
on the daughter board tuner.
Commands via UDP to the RX unit use port
2008.
The default baud rate is
115200
.
Entering Command Mode
In order to configure the network settings via the CONSOLE Port, the Receiver must be placed in Command
mode.
DTV-RX02-HD High-Definition Receivers
To place the DTV-RX02-HD Receiver in Command mode, press ’Enter’ while the unit is booting up. To
reboot, re-cycle power to the unit by disconnecting and re-connecting the 12VDC POWER connector on the
rear panel.
DTV-RX01-SD Receivers
To place the DTV-RX01-SD Receiver in Command mode, send the following
IPTVsetup
serial command:

ClearQAM/ATSC (High Definition) Serial Commands
The following serial commands are supported by both DTV-TX03-US Transmitters and DTV-RX02-HD
Receivers:
ClearQAM/ATSC (High Definition) Serial Commands
boot
Exit boot loader prompt and start booting firmware
setip
Display current IP setting in bootloader to be passed to kernel when booting up.
Note: This command does not display current network setting in firmware. It is only used to check
what has been configured before booting up the unit.
setip lan
Following prompts to configure LAN network settings. This setting takes effect immediately after
the unit boots up.
Enter DHCP option (0/1) >
Enter ipAddr:

Enter Gateway:
Enter priDNS:
Enter secDNS:
Enter DomainName:
Note: If DHCP is set, all other options to enter IP address setting will be skipped. If entry is not
valid, it will be prompted again. If second entry is still not valid, the configuration will exit without
saving.
Note: All DTV Transmitters and Receivers must have an assigned IP Address, Network Mask,
and Gateway Address in order for the DTV system to work correctly. This applies to units that uti-
lize DHCP and to units that have been assigned Static IP addresses. If you are using DHCP, verify
that these address assignments are provided by the DHCP Server.
